The Corner

assalamualaikum

i'm back from redang and it was fantastic. spent 2 days 1 night in redang abadi resort for rm250. quite cheap comparing to the other package with the same content which cost rm350. 12 noon after 2 hours trip on the ferry, my friends and i finally reached redang island and my first impression was, "gorgeous!".

redang beach

went snorkeling for about 5 hours at 4 different beaches. different fishes and different tides. spotted some turtles but by the time i went into the water, they're already gone. would be great if able to see one of those creatures.

not the one i saw but remember this? windows 98? haha

seeing the coral reefs sometimes get me an eerie feeling. imagine, floating at the height of two storeys building, above some enormous weird-shaped coral reefs. almost like those things are going to pull you down and eat you. haha. influenced by the alien movies i guess.

anyway anyhow, now, the main topic, the corner.
what i meant about the corner is the turning point i was talking about before. you see, there's a quote from HAMKA that says,

"Kalau hidup sekedar hidup. Babi di hutan juga hidup. Kalau bekerja sekadar bekerja. Kera juga bekerja..."

which if directly translated, it means,

if you live simply just to live your life, the boars in the jungle also live their life.
if you live simply just to work, the monkeys in the jungle also work.

so the point here is, i came across this saying not a long time ago, and it makes me think for awhile. "what differs us from those animals then?","what should we do to be different from those creatures?". come to think about it, first, we are born from our mother's belly, then we learn new things in school, make friends, work, meet our life partner, new family, death, new child, school, friends, work, new family, death, and it goes on and on. death can come anytime and anywhere though. so, aren't those life forms in the jungle also do the same thing? i mean, they were also born, learn new things (hunting, collecting fruits etc), socialise, reproduce, and die.
what's the difference?

but we're different right? but at which part? at which corner?

the differences lie in our brain. our thinking skills. unlike those animals, they can't think, they can't simply change their lifestyle. their are meant to be like that. but what about us, humans? are we not allowed to choose what we want? is it forbidden for us, humans to change our lifestyle and adapt to new things? is the cycle i mentioned previously is the only way for us to live our life? an absolute no, right?

what i wanted to say here is, we, humans, have the ability to think and that is what differing us from those animals. so think! how does the tree grow, why do objects stuck to the ground, why are there shining stars during the night, why there's day and night, why the water from the river does not mix with the sea water, and many more. we have the ability to think, so we should question why these things occurs! so we learn science. do science explains everything? yes? no? no. we were told that everything is made up of a small particle called atoms. but then, do we see these atoms? then we were told that there are oxygen in the air which is needed by the lifeforms on the ground in order to live. and do we see these oxygen? can we feel, taste, touch or hear these things? and then, we are told that everything in this universe started off with a big bang, which means before that big bang, there's nothing, and how come the earth and the other planets can move around the sun within a fixed orbit? natural occurrence? we create robots, so the robots are created by us. those robots do not exist on their own do they? what is this leading to?

a question to be hold

there's god, Allah the Great. He had arranged everything. He created us. He differed us from other life forms. He gave us the ability to think so that we could find Him using the clues he left for us, the Quran. Just because we can't see Him, it doesn't mean that He does not exist.

say, we invented robots, do they have the exact same physical and mental condition like us humans? do they have the same skin like our skin? same blood like our blood? same brain like our brain? no! which means, the creator is not the same as the creation. we can't imagine how He looks like because He is not something that we had ever seen before. He is our creator. The one and only, Allah SWT.

a creation can't create the creation created by the creator. see? we can't even create our own bones. instead, we replace them with other things that looked similar..

so, here we are in this world. should we live like the other animals? now that we have the ability to think? what should we do? clues? refer to it? why only us, humans, are given the ability to think? why?
this is my turning point. i've come to realise that we, humans, came into this world with our own goals and purpose. not simply just to live. we have our own tasks and duties to be taken care of. which will be concluded in the next post. stay tune.

coming soon. (ignore the mentioned date)
